Note from Dr Mike: Dave started as a rehab tech working with me in the clinic fresh out of college over a decade ago. It was clear to me that he had a gift for connecting with people, a genuine desire to help, and a thirst for learning. When patients started regularly requesting to book their appointments with him (even though he wasn’t a therapist) that’s when I knew he needed to be on my team at Spectrum. Since, he has developed to become a top tier trainer and nutritionist that always delivers results. He is as good as they get, and simply an awesome guy.
Hi! I’m Dave and I’m one of the co-owners of Spectrum and I’ve worked here for 14 years now. My journey in this field started when I was a young athlete trying to get strong. I injured my knee pretty badly by exercising incorrectly and needed to have surgery to repair a torn meniscus. I wanted to make sure I never injured myself through exercise again by properly educating myself and being able to make a career about doing the same for others.
I graduated from Salem State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. I’m also a certified athletic trainer (ATC) under the National Athletic Trainer’s Board of Certification, a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) under the National Strength & Conditioning Association, and a certified sports nutritionist (CISSN) under the International Society of Sports Nutrition.
I always wanted to incorporate what I know about injury prevention and apply it to personal training and nutrition. When I graduated from college, Spectrum was the one place that was doing exactly that, so I guess you could say that I am living out my dream that I had in college!
I love the outdoors and being active so it’s very natural for me to want to help people become more active and healthy. I was a soccer player all 4 years of high school and transitioned to martial arts in college. Some of my hobbies include mountain biking, sailing, camping, skiing, and hiking. I currently live in Merrimac with my wife Erin. We have two kids- 8 year old son Phoenix , and 6 year old daughter Scarlet, and 2 cats- Willy & Pickles.
