“My success in the BBC is less about how much weight that I lost and more about what I learned about myself in the process. I was never a big eater, but I was a poor eater. So I always thought that as long as I didn’t eat a lot, my weight should stay in control. However, that didn’t turn out so well. I was a huge carb eater, a big sweet eater and basically lazy, lazy, lazy about food and its preparation. So what I learned over the past 8 weeks is that I can eat more protein and eat less carbs and still be satisfied. I really don’t mind preparing my meals and I have figured out how to eat out at a restaurant without blowing it. I have stopped eating dessert every night. And guess what? I feel so awesome that I won’t go back to eating my old way because feeling good is soooooo much better than the temporary joy I get from eating “junk” food. Even on Thanksgiving, I ate very cautiously. I did have some stuffing, but a few bites. I did have dessert, but only a sliver. I was fine with that. I was able to get back on track even after eating differently on the holiday. So basically I learned that I can eat healthy and enjoy it. I learned I can enjoy the “treats” for what they are – treats!
The other huge lesson was about exercise. I hate to exercise. I just do. But I accept and understand the fact that it is an essential part of my feeling good. It makes me feel younger and more energetic. Again, I’d rather feel good. I CHOOSE to feel good.
This program provided me the structure to learn these lessons and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to gain control over how they FEEL. It’s a great benefit to get thinner and wear smaller clothes, but the take-away for me is the great feeling of health and well-being!”
